San Francisco based Kate Eric is a decade-old collaborative duo comprised of Kate Tedman and Eric Siemens. Their large scale, highly detailed paintings and works on paper engender new perspectives on conflict, aggression, and violence. Their dynamic and highly charged paintings illustrates that conflict is a constant condition of our universe. In Kate Eric works, the principles of cause and effect lead entities to collide and destruction to occur on a molecular and cosmic scale. Their work proposes a thought-provoking and somewhat unsettling notion: it may in fact be futile to seek order and harmony in our universe. Kate Eric have been reviewed and featured in ARTnews, Art in America, the San Francisco Chronicle and other publications. They have exhibited in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the U.S. and their art is included in numerous public and private collections throughout the world, including the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
