Steve Fitch’s photo series, Gone, was made over a ten year period beginning in 1990 inside buildings abandoned by settlers on the high Great Plains of America. This settlement was encouraged by the Homestead Act of 1862 but by the 1930’s much of the region was being abandoned, a process that accelerated during the Great Depression and that continues today.
